Hello 2011!! Let's Reflect!

Holy catfish!! My blog is covered in dust!! I have been a total slacker when it comes to updating my blog. The past 4 months have been a whirlwind. Halloween, Thanksgiving, 1st Birthday, Christmas and a New Year!! Where do I even begin.....

October: At just shy of 10 months Kinsley Grace started walking. One night Jody and I sat in the floor with her and she took about 4 steps from Daddy to Mommy. After that she would periodically just do it completely on her own. If you tried to push her to do it she would have nothing to do with it, but if she was standing alone, in her own little world, she would just take off. Four steps turned into Eight and then twelve and then she was gone!!!!  It was perfect timing for my little Tinker Bell to go trick or treating for the very first time. She loved it. We went to my parents house first to show off her super precious costume and then we went to a few houses in their neighborhood after that. She was not scared at all. She would walk right up to the door (with mommy or daddy of course) and just stare at all the nice people handing out delicious treats. She started getting sleepy so we headed home and in the car she enjoyed a nice lollipop! Kinsley's 1st Halloween was a success!!! Not to mention... Mommy and Daddy ate way too much candy!

November: This month consisted of my Dad's 62nd Birthday, Jody's first Hunting Trip, Kinsley's 1st experience with croup, A trip to WinStar Casino, the Krum Fire Department Banquet, Our Dog Chevy's 4th Birthday, mailing out Kinsley's 1st Birthday Party invitations and Thanksgiving and I almost forgot.... My 26th Birthday!! Now I hope you see why I had no time to BLOG.

Jody's step dad Glen orchestrated a fully planned out Hunting Trip for the all the guys the first weekend of November. "The Guys" consisted of Jody, Glen, Jody's two brothers, some of Glen's friends and their sons. His brothers couldn't make it so Jody rode down to the hunting place with his step dad's friends (whom in which he had never met) and his Step dad would come later that night when he got off work. Well needless to say, Glen never made it due to traffic and car problems so Jody spent the weekend with strangers. Kind of scary to think about Guns, Beer and Strangers but he made the best of it and had a really good time. He of course missed his girls especially since baby girl was so sick which leads me into my next update.

Kinsley was exposed to croup this month. With her clean bill of health I was very concerned over this exposure so the first sign of even a cough we were going to the doctor. Well what you know.... she got it!! I was making dinner and I heard a nasty cough and immediately freaked. I took her temperature and she was running a fever so I called the on call nurse to get advice on what I should do at that point and she advised us to take her to Acute Kids where she would receive an oral steroid to help with her breathing and coughing. This lasted a little over a week and consisted of a midnight run to Walgreen's and numerous snuggle times in the hot steamy bathroom.

The following weekend was the Krum Fire Banquet at the Winstar Casino Golf Resort. It was awesome! Great food, lots of awards and a heart warming slide show that reflected on the past year. Its truly amazing what these men and woman do. They are first on the scene at all minor and major accidents and when there is any type of structure fire they are running in while most of us would be running out. Its an honor to be apart of this great organization. After the banquet was over we were off to the casino to do a little gambling. When I say little... I mean little! I refuse to keep putting money in a machine that doesn't give any money back. :)

Thanksgiving was good as always. We went to my cousins house for lunch and left early to go be with Jody's mema since this would be her first Thanksgiving alone. So we made her a plate of delicious food and desert and spent the evening with her. We enjoyed each others company and of course Special K put on a show. It's so precious how this little angel can light our hearts. My mom also put together a Thanksgiving lunch the following Saturday for her side of the family. Once again we ate a delicious meal. I don't know why but the green bean casserole seemed to be my favorite this year. It was so GOOD!!! We are very Thankful for our families and are blessed to be able to spend this time with each other.

I love getting ready for Christmas so I will admit I had my decorations up the week before Thanksgiving. Hey, there is nothing wrong with enjoying the coziness for an extra week!

December: Kinsley's 1st Birthday was my main focus for this month. I had been planning for 6 months so everything just fell in to place. She had a great time. There were over 40 people there to celebrate this very special Birthday. She never got overwhelmed or cranky, she just enjoyed her party like every little girl should. It was a TOTAL success and not to mention so cute! She toddled around in her little tutu. Awww! My Sassy Sassy! She was blessed with a whole new wardrobe and so many toys!! I had to do some serious cleaning out once we got home with it all.

On Kinsley's actual Birthday, Jody and I along with Auntie Heather took K to the Gaylord Ice Show. It was Charlie Brown and the Peanut gang! It was quite an experience but I think its safe to say she had a blast. All the bright colors and characters really caught her attention. After we were done there we went home for a well needed nap.

That evening we went to Babies R Us and let Kinsley pick out her new BIG Girl car seat. Daddy even installed it in the parking lot for her!! Such a good daddy! She loves being able to face forward and see whats going on. We went to dinner at Outback (her favorite) and then made a special trip up to the hospital to do a little reminiscing of the day our sweet baby girl came into this world. December 19th is a day that I will never forget. The love that I have for my daughter is unlike anything I have ever felt before. Love you Cuppycake! Mwah!!!

I had all of my Christmas shopping done by Kinsley's Party. It was so nice!!! I think I will make that an every year tradition. It actually helped out because once Christmas was here we were BOOKED. This is how it went....... Christmas Eve Lunch with Heather and MJ, Christmas Eve night at Jody's mom's house, Christmas Day morning at my mom and dad's, Lunch at my Aunt's house, dinner at Jody's dad's house and the day after Christmas at my other Aunts house. Whew... did you catch all that??? Kinsley seriously took all of her naps in the car that weekend. I am very family oriented so I was determined to see everybody but next year we might have to make some different arrangements. I know there will come a time where we will have to start making our own family traditions but its going to be very hard and emotional on me giving up my own. Santa sure thought Kinsley was a good girl this year. He spoiled her rotten! But she totally deserved it!

OMG! I almost forgot. Along with Kinsley's 1st Birthday, there was another Birthday for a VERY Special man. My Uncle Doyle celebrated his 75th Birthday. Doesn't he look Great for 75!! Love him so much!!

We brought in the New Year with our good friends and family. We went to dinner with my parents and on the way to Jill and Jon's Kinsley fell asleep. We put her to bed when we got there and she actually woke up just in time to bring in the new year with Mommy and Daddy! It was AWESOME!!

Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011!!!
